Yes. Unfortunately Scrum is well marketed and deeply rooted. But there is a somewhat-silent majority of IT people who think that it is a problem - that is not a casual observation, but something that I have been tracking. And among programmers, the doubts about Scrum go much deeper.
That's why Dave Thomas and Ron Jeffries - authors of the Agile Manifesto - have spoken up about this. They feel that Agile was "stolen" by Scrum.
Some of the practices in the Manifesto are problematic - too extreme - but most of the ideas are quite excellent. I feel that it is better to start from that, and be willing to decide what works for one's own situation; and view Scrum as just one model to consider among many when crafting what will work best for one's situation.
