Well said, thoughtful, and I agree; but I would propose an alternative to the idea of making capital available to all: that the mechanism of “capital” is inherently unfair and flawed, and is at the root of the inequity in our system. A capital based model is one in which one needs “capital” to undertake large efforts that require lots of people to cooperate. In that model there are “owners” (shareholders) and workers (employees). An alternative model is a co-op model, in which the owners and the workers are the same people. In a co-op model, one does not raise capital: one enlists partners.
