Well said, but the problem is that the Democratic camp fail to have solutions to these very real problems that are other than tired old socialist approaches; and they also fail to acknowledge the very legitimate concerns of the right. Both the Left and Right express extreme points of view, while most people are not so extreme.
The problems are real; income disparity, escalating health care costs, and so on. But unchecked immigration is a real problem; and so is excessive government regulation. Yes, Elizabeth Warren is 100% right: we need to break up big companies, and that includes the telcos as well. It is not free markets that we need — it is fair markets — and monopolies destroy market fairness. Regulation is needed to keep markets fair.
But from the Democrats, we only hear the old ideas of more bureaucracy and more Federal programs — inescapably socialist approaches.
What we don’t hear is any proposals that might address the root causes of problems. First and foremost, our election system must be fixed, to break the stranglehold that the two major parties — which don’t well represent most people — have on our system.
