In the sciences there are generally two kinds of researchers: theorists and experimentalists. Theorists like to think; experimentalists like to do. Einstein was a theorist. But the many scientists who test theories are experimentalists. When theories have been proven, engineers turn them into useful things.

Theorists and experimentalists are neurologically different. Theorists live in their head. Experimentalists live through action.

We need both of them. Without them both, there would be no progress.
