This focus on Scrum Master is, frankly, pathological and ideological. The important paradigm is leadership: what does good leadership look like? (Hint: the answer is not in the Scrum Guide; rather, it is in the wealth of research that has been done about leadership)
I could recommend a range of sources, but this recent one stands out: The book "Accelerate", which documents research on what kinds of teams were most effective. Hint: they were the ones that had transformational leaders.
My advice: don't look to the Scrum Guide for answers. It is ideological, not research-based, is simply a former doctor's opinion, and it is primarily a marketing tool.
