The allegations sound pretty awful, but one should remember:

1. These accusations suddenly surfaced just when the US government needed them.
2. At least one of the women involved continued to see Assange.

So while, again, if the allegations are true, they are awful, but please forgive me for being skeptical in this case. When the US government wants something, it can be very persuasive.
