SpaceX does things differently than traditional aerospace companies. Traditional companies design for years and then build their finished product and launch it. SpaceX doesn’t do that: it designs things to be easily built, builds some, launches them, sees what happens, then replaces them with better versions.
I would expect that they would eventually de-orbit the early offending satellites, and replace them. Their launch costs and their manufacturing costs are much lower than what people are used to.
But it is good to keep some pressure on them about this. Just remember that they work differently: they can “undo” things more easily than companies like Boeing.
