So many articles say things like “If UFOs were real, we would have seen them”. Talk about mass denial. Consider for example this NY Times article. We have seen them. We just don’t understand them or know what they are.

But I don’t think that those UFOs are piloted by organic beings. Surely they are automated. As the author points out, it is too hard and takes too long to get here.

And it seems likely to me that organic beings who develop technology would soon be replaced by something much more advanced — something non-organic. So would “alien societies” resemble ours? I highly doubt it: more likely such “societies” would be like nothing we can imagine.
