In the Agile 2 training course, we teach the entire range of leadership theories and leadership models that one finds if one studies that in an academic setting. People need to understand leadership theory. Organizations need to empower those who have positive leadership styles; but to do that, you need to know what positive styles look like - as you say, someone who delegates but also giving advice and instruction.

Today we hear people talking about what a "coach" is; but a good leader is not just one thing: a good leader coaches, teaches, and mentors. Think back on your best teacher in grade school: did they just teach? Or did they also coach and mentor? Most likely they did all three, even through their job role was "teacher".
