On the contrary, I have thought it through a great deal. This is an issue that I have studied.

First of all, I am for trans rights. I feel that trans people have been and continue to be persecuted, and I think that is terrible. I am for the protection and rights of trans people.

What I am not for is being told how I should think about the issue. For example, I reject that a trans woman is equivalent in every way to a "cis" woman. They are not. A trans woman is a trans woman. Trans women should not participate in womens' sports - to allow that is unfair to the cis women of that sport.

But I feel that trans women are people and are legitimate and deserve respect.

I have also observed that trans people seem to fall into two categories:

1. Those who casually think that they are "really a <gender>".

2. Those who desperately feel that they _must be_ a given gender.

I fall into #1. I have always felt that I should have been born a woman. I tend to act the way women act - early in my life I had to train myself to "act like a guy". In so many ways, I fit the stereotypes of women. But I feel no anxiety about it. I am very comfortable being who I am: I have male reproductive biology, I am heterosexual, and I have no problem living as a man, even though I tend to "think like a woman" on the inside, whatever that means. In fact, putting a label on how I think inside my mind is, to me, very backward.

The trans people in category #2 feel anxiety, and they tend to be the ones who are dogmatic about trans issues. That is no surprise, since they live in misery until they transition. That is, _by definition_, a compulsive disorder. But it is very real. And it needs to be understood better. And if transitioning relieves the anxiety, then that is a remedy and should be honored and accepted.

I am for trans people.. I don't accept some of the narratives that the trans community advances, but I support trans rights, trans protection, and treating trans people as people like anyone else. I am on your side.
