Largely true. Although I partly blame the far left for this situation. After Obama took office, the Progressive movement took root. Their thinking was "If we can do this, let's see how far we can go!"

They went too far. Middle America is freaked out by gender fluidity and scenes of thousands of people from Central America on their way to our border, and until not long ago the Progressives were advocating for open borders. They only changed their tune on that when they saw the backlash.

So while I agree with your sentiment, it is only half the root cause of our current situation.
