It's not just about women. A lot of men (like me) hate working in an office and in a hierarchy. It feels suffocating.

It is a personality type. It's not that those people are lazy. (I probably work 60 hours a week, but in my own way.) It's that they don't like the structure, the politics, and the pressure - as your article says.

Some people thrive on all that, or don't mind it. Others cannot tolerate it.

And people also have different values. Some people don't care about being professionally successful, and that is okay.
