It is very toxic, nasty, and unprofessional to start out by disparaging an individual in an abstract ad hominem way, labeling them and characterizing them. Shame on you. This post really should be blocked for that reason. And does Brett even know you are writing this about him? He posts in LinkedIn - have you notified him?

SAFe is a collection of patterns. The main problems with it are,

1. The way it is taught. From what people have told me - experienced senior people whose opinion I trust - the training is generally filled with junior people memorizing the rules to get the certification. It's a certification mill.

2. It focuses on process. But agility does not result from process. The most agile companies in the world do not use SAFe or anything like it. Agility results from behavior - cultural norms of what behaviors are expected of people.

3. SAFe steals everything and calls it its own. It is like someone giving an "I have a dream speech" and not mentioning Martin Luther King. It would be disingenuous and an appropriation.

4. It doesn't really work. Companies that implement SAFe wholesale generally find that their costs go up. They generally get better visibility, which is good, but they don't get agility. I am sorry, but pivoting on a quarterly schedule is not agility.
