I wonder if a compact thorium reactor could be built — one suitable for extra-Earth use. A source of power will be needed on Mars, for example — it will be awhile before enough solar capacity can be built there. A compact reactor seems logical, but it would be nice if it were based on a less dangerous fuel cycle.
