I love this one: "Everything is a fire drill for them"

That is a very common pattern.

I disagree that one should be able to show emotion at work. Getting emotional during a discussion is a sure way to shut down discussion and make people leery of raising issues. And crying is an absolute no - people will not want to work with someone who falls apart. If someone is abusive, that is not a reason to cry: it is a reason to walk out right then and possibly quit if the abusive person is a boss.
