I love the quote at the end: "...Geniuses remove it."
The secret is that you don't actually need _any_ methodology or framework! None!
I know because during the 1980s I was on a series of successful projects, and we used no framework or methodology!
What we had was a really good leader. His name was Carl. He was a listener. He asked questions - about everything. He wanted to know what you were working on and how you were doing it. He never criticized, but he often made suggestions, in a friendly way. He never told you what to do. He always knew what everyone was doing. He was always thinking of things that might go wrong. He made decisions, but we always knew why. He had our backs. And he was smart, and his decisions tended to be good, and so we _wanted_ him to make decisions. But he also expected us to get stuff done, and did not micromanage us.
This was the mid 80s. We ran full automated regression tests every night. We worked a feature backlog. We collaborated frequently. Our stuff worked, and we were never behind. When there were problems, it got discussed and we instituted a practice to deal with the problem. And we were all treated as thought leaders.
And no framework, no methodology. None. Zip. Zero.
