I love that Willem-Jan is challenging the Scrum events.

I suggest also asking, for each Scrum event, "Is there a better to achieve what this event is for?"

Because there usually is.

As Willem-Jan wrote regarding sprint planning, "The Product Owner is basically the only one providing input."

Maybe that is because many people don't contribute well in a group discussion. Or maybe someone of them are preoccupied with the code that they were working on, when the sprint ended and they were interrupted?

Maybe there is a better way. I won't propose alternative here - it would take an article - but I can tell you: there _ARE_ better ways. Think and you will find them.
