I found it kind of spot on too (I am a man, by the way).

One caveat on "has no friends" is that there can be many causes. About half of all people (men and women) lean introverted. Some people are intellectual but that is an asset rather than a problem for someone else who is similar.

In my early forties I really only had one close friend (also a very intellectual guy). Unfortunately he had a fatal heart attack at 41 while running (the tragic irony is that he was a doctor). I have never found any male friends since then who I wanted to hang out with in any sense that appealed to me.

Fortunately I did find a wonderful woman and we have been together for 22 years. We have friends, but they all have families and it is not the same as with my friend who passed away.
