I am not surprised. If we look at the influences that young men receive, they are:
1. Shooter games - killing people for sport.
2. Movies based around bully behavior and fighting (check out the trailers of most cinema movies today - they are all like that).
3. A culture that increasingly devalues intelligence and education, in favor of being a "winner", a martial arts hero, and a bully. (Think Andrew Tate)
Women are not all that great either early in life. I have horror stories about women. But I think that what you say is true.
I would add that I think that the biggest way that women limit who they meet is by having silly expectations about height. Wanting a "tall man" is like a man wanting a "woman with big breasts". It is a gross physical characteristic that should not be so important. Most men are under 5'10" - so by limiting oneself to "tall men", women are filtering out a lot of people who might be emotionally mature.
