I agree. The trope that collaboration happens better in person is false; the claim that innovation happens more often in person is nonsense. The most innovation happens when one can think deeply - something that is hard to do at work. People can still collaborate just fine remotely. One must manage more proactively, that is true - but that is simply better management.
