How do you know he is white?

Misogyny is widespread. There have been numerous articles in the news about horrible rapes in India. FGM is prevalent in many African countries. Misogyny is not about race.

Misogyny is perpetrated by a tiny fraction of men. Those men are pathetic. They also do it in a manner such that other men cannot see it happen, because many other men would do something if they observed it.

It must be terrible to have someone harass you online. I personally have been harassed in real life, over a period of three years. It was terrible. (My ex-wife was a major contributing party to that harassment, which was conducted by her boyfriend at the time.)

Perhaps the next time a man does something inappropriate online, ask several of your male friends to respond. That will show the harasser that other men don’t support the concept of harassing women. It might even make him a little afraid. I don’t know if it will work, but at least it is a response. But whatever you do, don’t let him provoke you into doing something that can be used against you. People often hurt you the most by provoking you.

And don’t let him make you feel like a victim. If you feel like a victim, he has won.

One more thing: let’s please stop singling out white men. The fact that he was white was not pertinent to your story. Yes, in the US, a large percent of wrongs are by white men, and those who have power tend to be white men; but most white men are not evil, and most white men don’t have power — most white men in the US are just getting by, and are victims of the powers-that-be just as much as anyone. Most white men are also not misogynists.
