Thanks for the clarification. And by the way, I mean no disrespect or offense :-) I was just reflecting on how the term “Latin America”, while correct today, does not make sense etymologically. My point is that “Latin” refers to the Latin language, which was European, whereas “Latin America” refers to Central and South America. Those are only “Latin” because they were conquered by invaders from Europe, so to characterize them as “latin” seems, to me, like too much of a concession to the invaders.
But I am not disagreeing — just reflecting. You are of course correct in the terminology.
