Hi Stephanie. It is not meant in a negative way. I have a compulsion to bite my nails. And I did not call you anything - I would not.

A compulsion is when one is drawn to a behavior, and if one is denied that behavior, one feels anxiety in response. That perfectly fits the condition that people with gender dysphoria have.

There are also many other people who do not feel anxiety, but merely think "I should have been born a woman", or "I should have been born a man". That is not gender dysphoria.

My point is to _support_ people in this - unless you have gender dysphoria, you don't need a label! People who have gender dysphoria feel a relief of anxiety when they embrace a label: that's a good thing because it helps them. Other people don't need to label themselves.
