Hi.

Black holes started as a conjecture to describe what would happen if there was so much mass that the strong force was insufficient to support the mass. The very premise of a black hole has been, from the beginning, about a concentration of mass.

When a star experiences a collapse, resulting in a supernova, the entire event is driven by the collapse.

We don't know what the physics inside a black hole is. But a supernova cannot occur without a collapse of mass. Some black holes spin, and some do not.
