"[Besides neurons, ] Brains have glial cells and chemicals that bathe the neurons in complex ways. AI systems try to model the elements that are thought to be essential for cognition."

I.e. I was saying that glial cells are among the elements that we don't think are needed for cognition. I was probably clumsy in how I explained it.
