There is disagreement on the topic of this article among AI experts. Jeff Hinton is in the camp that AGI will arrive and will present an existential threat. LeCun disagrees and thinks it is not a threat. Those two men are founders of AI, yet they disagree on this.

Recently there was a paper on the control problem, which has come to be called the alignment problem. The authors claim to prove that it is not possible to control AI.
