The assumption in the above is that the Federal government can successfully give high quality health care to all. Many people do not believe that is likely; given the history of the Federal government, it is more likely that it will create a bureaucratic mess, forcing people to buy insurance on top of funding public health care through their taxes — which is the case in Britain.
