Good stuff.

I'd like to point out that you are describing forms of leadership. Effective leaders empower people. They also teach. And they are always learning.

And leaders are not just those who have authority - everyone can be a leader.

But leadership - as in the behavior of leading - is the thing to understand: What kinds of leadership are effective?

That's why the Agile 2 team, which deeply considered the question of "What generates actual agility?", came to the conclusions that it did - with leadership as the main element to focus on.

I view Agile 2 as a restatement of things that generate actual agility. It is not a set of rules or steps to follow - it is simply a set of insights.

Check it out: agile2.net

It was created thoughtfully - an effort that spanned many months, and involving a broad cross section of highly experienced people - people with experience in leadership in various roles, including program management, product design, entrepreneurship, HR, system engineering, and instructional design.

And there is no certification.
