For some people, physical presence is important. For others, it is not. This lockdown year has enabled me personally to flourish. I have had more contact - though remote - than at any time in my career. The reason is that no one expects to have an in-person meeting. So during the pandemic, I greated a group of 15 people around the world and we launched a movement (Agile 2), we wrote a book, and I started a company (Agile 2 Academy). It has been an amazing year, and I could not have done it if everyone were in offices.
So it depends. Some people are _more_ innovative and productive remote. Others are less so. Remote empowers those who have been disempowered by the requirement for being in an office.
