One thing I would like to point out is that "get it into production" is often where the work begins for a software engineering team: that handoff to the dev teams is far more than just "deployment" - it is where the dev teams need to understand the model they are being given, and figure out how to embed it into a microservice that can call GPUs, automate the tests and deployment, and put a lot of plumbing in place to make it monitorable and manageable, not to mention business telemetry.

The interface between the AI team and the software teams is a very challenging dimension to this, IME.
