echoing racist statements made by the president”

Which are those? I don’t receive Trump’s tweets (and don’t want to), but among the headlines of the NY Times and Washington Post, I cannot recall Trump saying something racist. He has said many things that were insensitive and boorish, and some of his statements could be stretched to be considered racist, but I cannot recall a statement that actually was racist.

Again, perhaps I am wrong. I don’t read everything, and I don’t subscribe to Trump’s tweets. But tell me what he has said that is actually racist.

Was the El Paso shooting racist? I don’t know — I did not read that asshole’s “manfifesto”, and don’t plan to. But I read in the Washington Post that the shooter complained that Congress — both Democrats and Republicans — were not doing anything about the flood of illegal immigrants.

Well, that is a fact, isn’t it? And that is something that might make someone angry, isn’t it? It makes me angry. Of course, I would not shoot anyone. And I am not racist. But I am angry that my Congress is not doing its job. I am angry that our laws — we have immigration laws — are being ignored daily by thousands of people who are coming here across our border, without going through the legal process.

It’s like they are giving us the finger and saying “Screw you! We’re coming in!”

It makes me angry. That does not make me racist. It would not matter if they were coming from the North, the South, or across the ocean.

So tell me this Jessica: Why is it that there is no discussion of that in the mainstream news? Why is the news not running headlines saying things like, “Unchecked illegal immigration is making people angry — maybe we should address the root cause! And just why isn’t Congress doing its job?”

Yes, they should report on the shooting as a horrendous hate crime. The person who kills others just for being here is hateful. There can be no justification for that. Those people are just trying to seek a better life. But Congress is at fault for not doing anything about the unchecked flow. The situation is Congress’s fault.

So why the diatribe about your favorite scapegoat — white men? Why not call out Congress for allowing this situation to get to this point? Unchecked immigration is splitting the US apart. It is splitting Europe apart. And our government — the Dems and GOP — do nothing about it.

Put the blame where it belongs, instead of — once again — on white men, who you clearly hate. We need less hate.
