But what is the point? These are just made up tales — no different from what any fiction author might write. The fact that some people believe them to be true is not surprising: many people believe the Earth is flat.
The relativism by which we equate science with cultural tall tales is illogical. Cultural tales like these are myths. They are interesting, but anyone alive today should see these tales as myths — not something to be revered, but rather something to be inspected the way that we might inspect tablets that record the tale of Gilgamesh.
