And what about people in urban areas? I live in northern Virginia. The average single family home costs a million dollars — not a big house, just an average one. How far would a “basic income” go in my town? It would be used up in a couple of days.

Meanwhile, the Federal government taxes everyone everywhere at the same rates. So even though my expenses are higher just because of the general area that I live in (which is required for my work), I have to subsidize people in other areas.

No thanks.
