Ah, one of the claims by Scrumdamentalists (phrase used by the British Computer Society in their ten year Agile retrospective): that the person who does not like Scrum “doesn’t understand it”. It is based on the theory that Scrum is a deeply nuanced discipline, and that one must study the sacred text (the Scrum Guide — an online pamphlet) for years, in order to become enlightened and see the hidden meanings.

Some of the other claims are,

2. “Scrum is just a framework — you are supposed to add to it” — and if one does not think of the right mystery elements, that is their fault.

3. “You did not do it right”.

All that for a religion — oops, I mean methodology — that was created by a former doctor with almost no IT experience and essentially no leadership experience.

But I think I do understand Scrum. I have been in the Agile community since 2000. Before assuming what I do or do not understand, please look up my bio. Thanks!
