Actually, IMO, if both partners in a household work, then they really don’t have time to do “housework” — they should get a maid, and split the remaining small tasks such as the nightly dishes.

And if they have kids, they need to hire a live-in nanny. If they cannot afford to do that, then they cannot afford to have kids.

Taking care of a household can be a full time job — the larger the household, the more it is a full time job. Trying to split it up between two people who already work full time is not reasonable: it will merely turn life into a rat race.
